Guess you never found an artist, huh? :D

Yeah, I saw that thread. You could have expanded so much upon this game, yet you didn't. Why? It was an interesting concept, but because you didn't add to it, the gameplay itself isn't that fun. There's only one 'enemy' (the cow that you must kill to turn into food), and the game isn't visually appealing (the main character's a box with a line for a turret). Even though you say you lack in drawing skill, if you spend time on drawing, it will end up looking pretty good. I give a couple of extra points in the 'Sound' category for HouseMasta music, but that doesn't come close to giving this game a better score.

I was joking when I made this, it was all for laughs. It wasn't even supposed to be on Newgrounds but I thought it'd be funny.

Cool concept; still too hard, I'm afraid.

As a concept, it's pretty cool. Who doesn't like a typing game where you press keys to blow up an alien spaceship? The only problem is, the new version is STILL too hard. I'm a pretty good typist, and even I found it too difficult. You should try adding less beats in the beginning so that people can sort of keep up. You should also make the keys on the bottom more visible, so that players can see what key they should press next. I didn't particularly care for the music -- even though it was fitting for the alien theme, I didn't like the bleepy-bloopy synthesized notes. But, that's probably just me. :D

However, I think that most people will agree with me with the fact that you still need to tone down the difficulty a little. Other notes would be that the warning, though it is present (a good thing), is a tad long. Shorten it, and make the game less hard, and I (and many others) will enjoy it more.

Thats some good ideias.
Thx

Nice game.

This is pretty addicting. It reminds me of this mini-game in Super Mario 64 DS, where you use a stylus to hit a shell into a group of shells to rack up points. I'm glad you decided to make such a similar game; I liked playing that mini-game.

Anyway, the graphics were pretty nice, and the dinosaurs and planets contrasted well with everything else. I also thought your coding was pretty impressive as well (it's pretty hard hitTesting irregular shapes and circles). There was a small glitch though. If a dinosaur was coasting along and went slightly into the boundaries, it would rotate around in circles. This isn't major, though, as a gentle nudge would move it out and stop the excessive spinning. I'm only reporting this because it happened about three times in the total of four games that I played.

In short, Solarsaurs is a good time-waster that is eyecatching, and fun to play. The music was also pretty catchy as well (hats off to Bad-Atom). Well done. Now when can we see a new Blue Rabbit game? ;)

Great game; easier than other Spin games, though.

The game is pretty fun -- dodging giant asteroids forever does get kind of boring, though. I found it easier than other games in the series, mainly because there was no real need to use the left and right arrow keys. You can get an especially high score using only the up and down keys to dodge. as the asteroids leave enough of a gap in between to squeeze through. However, this is probably a game that anyone could enjoy -- little kids, teens, parents, probably even grandparents -- due to its ease of controls and intuity. Of course, it's difficult to master, but just about anyone can play and have fun with this game.

Hey, great work!

I remember seeing this on the BBS from when it was a demo to a fully-fledged game. I really like the bullet physics, and really, who doesn't love shooting random bosses? The graphics were suitable for the game, though I wish that the animation of the sun rising and setting would be a tad slower. I love the boss mechanics, as their weak points are always interesting and humorous.

A really nice touch might be to give the player a new play mode when you beat the game that shoots really far bullets with a simple click, because I had a sudden urge while playing the game to shoot a whole bunch of shots really quickly at the bosses for no apparent reason at all. But, I don't see that coming any time soon, and it's probably only me who would like to see that happen... XD

Overall, I liked the side-scrolling shooting game, and I hope to see more stuff of this quality in the future from you. As far as I know, there are no glitches, so I think you're safe. Good job.

Not bad of a game!

Kinda remindsme of Retron. Well, at least the concept of changing the controls whenever the screen tilts. The colors are nice and bright, and don't interfere with game playing. It's amazing that you can churn out good games in such a short amount of time in between. May you explain how to code a rotating control scheme? ;)

It's pretty Loco Roco-ish...

...but the physics are certainly top-notch. Well done. That being said, the physics were kind of slow, though, especially where you have to squeeze through cracks. The graphics are subpar (I see drawing's not your strong point), but, oddly enough, they seem to suit the game well. I do wish the graphics were most stylized, though... The game's tunes are pretty catchy, and suit the light-hearted theme. Extra points for the cool preloader (which is practically a game all by itself). The game's basic, but fun. Those 3 and a half years were certainly not wasted at all. :)

Fun to play; more customization needed, though.

Though this game does resemble Thing Thing, the actual concept is quite remarkable and different. Because of the way your character flies away when hit with a bullet or grenade blast, it kind of reminds me of Super Smash Bros. Odd, eh?

I like how there are many modes of play. An interesting one is the Microphone Mode, where guns are triggered by blowing into a mic. You should really make a blowdart sort of game with this. It was generally fun to play, albeit with humorous AI troubles (sometimes, if you toss a grenade at your enemy, he will stand there and the grenade blows up in his face). :D

Some suggestions would be to add custom characters into the game. I wanted to rename 'Default' into something else, but I couldn't. I have no idea whether this was intentional or unexpected. Sure, customizing your character's skin and blood color was cool, but it could have been better. But, overall, this was fun to play, and it certainly has a chance to be on the front page.

fungus-shark408 responds:

Sounds like you were hitting "Edit Character" instead of "New Character". Then you can't change the name.

A solid effort.

Political Duel is a really good game. The only flaw that people might take against your Flash is it's extremely similar to the game World Domination Battle, but with way less characters and not as good gameplay. That being said, I still think that this game certainly should stay in the portal. The basic gameplay has no flaws or glitches that I could see. The cut-out faces of the characters sometimes didn't match well, as since they were different photos, the lighting and sizes of the faces were different. I probably rated this game a higher score for 'Style', except that it is much like a toned-down version of WDB, as mentioned before. I wish that the characters would have different attacks (besides their unique forward and back special moves). Also, it would boost your score more if the characters had different attributes (ie. Saddam Hussein might be stronger than the average character, but also slower, etc.). But, overall, a well-designed game.

freeworldgroup responds:

thanks, but the game was made well before world domination battle and was on the fwg for a couple of months.

Not good.

There are plenty of other tutorials that cover the things your tutorial has, and you haven't explained the code well.

But, that's not my REAL beef. My beef is, many things don't even work (*gasps*)! The example in the Platformer section failed (the ball went through the ground). The example of the password-entry section somehow went horribly wrong (it says 'access granted' even when you type random stuff in). The mouse maze example is screwed up because when you click the 'Next' button to go to that frame, the cursor is already outside of the walls, meaning you can easily go to the red square and win automatically.

In general, I'd probably get your friend Mark2k7 to go over your tutorial as well as your spelling, as there are plenty of things wrong with it.

Mario Kart, for the win.
